Maria has been working as a team assistant for Office & Culture since the beginning of 2024. Her main goal is to ensure that all employees of #Bude feel completely comfortable. She tells us what measures she wants to take to achieve her goal in a remote-first company and why she likes her work so much in an interview we had with her in November 2024 — in the midst of moving our offices.

Hi Maria! Let's take a look at your job in the Logistikbude. What are you up to in the #Bude?

“Well, I'll make sure that #Bude not only operates but is also fun! Unofficially, this is called 'Team Assistant Office & Culture. ' In practice, this means that I take care of administrative processes and am also the first point of contact for applicants and new hires. Anyone who starts with us should feel comfortable even before their first day at work!”

And how did you end up in the #Bude?

"I felt kind of stuck in my old job. So I went on a search - and poof, I stumbled across an ad for Logistikbude. The job wasn't a perfect fit, but the interviews showed that someone was just the missing piece of the puzzle for the team assistant role. So we joined forces and I officially became a “Budianerin” at the beginning of the year."

What does a working day look like for you?

“Let's just say that I make sure that things are not only organized, but also cordial in our office. In addition to my administrative tasks, I make sure that new colleagues feel at home from day one - even though many of them switch to working from home quite quickly. I also try to keep the team spirit high, because it#s important to us despite the remote culture.”

And how do you do that?

“First of all, I make sure that the newcomers are well equipped — both technically and mentally. So there is not only the laptop, but also a task so that they immediately feel needed. The onboarding process is particularly important to us because many people head to the home office after day one. The goal? A team spirit that extends across WiFi and screen borders! That's why we have team events, game nights (people from Cologne or Münster even come for that — highlight!) and our weekly CoffeeDates, during which randomly matched colleagues simply spend 30 minutes talking about topics away from work.”

What do you like the most about the Logistikbude?

“The freedom! The #Bude is not only about figures and projects, but also about trust and personal responsibility. Everyone is kept up to date, all goals and projects are transparent — so you know what's going on. Everyone can identify with the goals and actively help to achieve them. My job really makes sense here.”

And what are you particularly looking forward to?

“Oh, definitely: our relocation in January! Finally, more space to let off steam creatively and organize even more events!”
